Return information summary and Adjusted Gross Income are included in a transcript. The transcripts are available for the most current year after the IRS has processed the return. Taxpayers can also get the transcripts for past three years.

Taxpayers can request two types of transcripts from the IRS:

• Tax Return Transcript. Most line items including Adjusted Gross Income from an original tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as filed, along with any forms and schedules are shown on a tax return transcript. Changes made after the filling of the original return will not be shown on a tax return transcript. This transcript is only available for the current tax year and returns processed during the prior three years.

• Tax Account Transcript. Basic data such as return type, marital status, adjusted gross income, taxable income and all payment types are shown on a tax account transcript. Changes made after the filling of the original return will be shown on the tax account transcript.
